Step-by-Step Guide to Ganesh Chavithi Puja: Rituals and Their Spiritual Significance
Ganesh Chavithi (Vinayaka Chaturthi) is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings. Performing Ganesh Puja at home or in temples during this festival is believed to bring peace, happiness, and success. Below is a step-by-step guide to performing the rituals, along with their significance.
🕉️ Step 1: Preparation for Ganesh Chavithi Puja
- Clean the house and Puja area – Cleanliness symbolizes purity of body and mind.
- Set up the altar with a wooden plank covered in a clean cloth.
- Place the Ganesh idol (Clay Ganapati/Mitti ka Ganesh) at the center of the altar.
- Arrange Puja Samagri like flowers, fruits, coconut, betel leaves, turmeric, kumkum, incense sticks, camphor, and sweets (especially Modak, Laddu, or Kudumulu).
📖 Significance: Preparing the space shows devotion and readiness to invite Lord Ganesha into our homes and hearts.
