Bhaktivedanta Manor sits in the village of Aldenham in Hertfordshire, 26 km north-west of central London and a 10-minute drive from Junction 5 of the M1 motorway. The estate has a large free car park (1,000+ spaces on festival days) and a courtesy shuttle on major festivals from Stanmore tube and Radlett train stations.

By air: London Heathrow is 26 km (30–40 min by taxi); Luton Airport is 22 km. By rail: Radlett Station (Thameslink) is 3 km away with trains to St Pancras in 25 minutes. Watford Junction (London Overground, London Midland) is 5 km, with trains to Euston in 18 minutes. By Tube: Stanmore (Jubilee Line) is 9 km, with bus 258 or taxi for the final leg. By car: From central London take the M1 northbound to Junction 5, then A41 and local signposted turns to Aldenham.

The Manor's 78-acre estate is signposted from Junction 5 of the M1 motorway — follow Aldenham Road south to Hilfield Lane. Free parking is available (1,000+ spaces during festivals) but fills quickly on Sundays and during Janmashtami: consider arriving by train via Radlett Station (Thameslink, 25 min from St Pancras) followed by a 2-km walk or the £3 temple-organised minibus. On Janmashtami (normally the busiest day of the UK Hindu calendar) the Manor operates park-and-ride shuttle buses from Stanmore Tube, Radlett Station and Watford Junction — free and running every 15 minutes from 8 AM to 11 PM.

Dress warmly on cold days — the Manor's temple room is partially unheated to preserve the deity arca-vigraha traditions, and the outdoor Tulasi courtyard and Vraja Mandala walking trail are exposed. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. The Manor has its own prasadam canteen and Govinda's restaurant serving full three-course vegetarian meals at modest prices; Sunday Feast (12:30 PM, donation-based) is a traditional kirtan-lecture-meal sequence that is one of ISKCON's oldest continuous programmes worldwide. For first-time visitors, Sunday Feast is the most welcoming introduction.

Where to Stay

Accommodation

The Manor welcomes residential devotees participating in festivals or courses — book through office@krishnatemple.com. For casual visitors, Radlett, Watford and Bushey have good hotel options: Hilton Watford, Grove Hotel Chandler’s Cross (5-star with temple views), Premier Inn Watford North and Holiday Inn Elstree all within 8 km. Central London hotels are 30–45 minutes by train. For pure-vegetarian prasadam and meals, Govinda’s Restaurant (operated by ISKCON) at Soho Street in central London and the Manor’s own Sunday Feast hall serve traditional Vaishnava meals prepared as offering to Radha-Krishna.

For residential devotional retreats the Manor offers simple dormitory accommodation — apply through office@krishnatemple.com, mentioning your home ISKCON centre if applicable. Paid boutique options within 10 km include the Grove Hotel Chandlers Cross (5-star, with views of the Manor estate), Hilton Watford and the Mercure London Watford. For those combining a Manor visit with London tourism, staying in Kings Cross or Paddington and taking the Thameslink to Radlett (25 min) is a practical alternative. Govinda's London restaurant on Soho Street (central London, 45 min by train) is operated by ISKCON and is a pilgrimage meal stop for many Manor-bound devotees.
