Darshan and tickets
- 6 October: Rs 300 tickets for Navaratri Brahmotsavam days; VIP darshans cancelled. TTD said it would release Rs 300 Special Entry Darshan tickets for 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 and 20 October at 10 AM on 7 October, only on ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in. VIP Break darshan and privileged darshans for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents with infants, NRIs and defence personnel are cancelled from 11 to 20 October, and recommendation letters will not be accepted from 10 to 19 October, except for protocol VIPs. - 17 September: Pilgrims' Experience Centre, museum and electric buses. On 16 September the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister opened a Pilgrims' Experience Centre at Vaikuntam Queue Complex-I, with a virtual view of temple rituals and 3D tours of Tirumala, and the renovated Sri Venkateswara Museum, developed by the TCS Trust. - 16 August: smoking, alcohol and gutka banned. After a person was caught smoking on the Alipiri footpath, TTD said a police complaint would be filed and reiterated that alcohol, smoking, intoxicants and gutka are prohibited across Tirumala, Alipiri, Srivari Mettu and other TTD areas. Board decisions
- 10 September: insurance cover for pilgrims. The TTD trust board approved Rs 2 lakh insurance cover through LIC, with TTD paying the premium, for families of devotees who die of natural causes in Tirumala, and raised compensation for accident deaths from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. It also approved a biogas plant for food waste, funds to transport extra sanitation staff, and a proposal for 400 outsourced posts to speed up laddu production. - 17 September: coconut fibre claim baseless. TTD said the photo being shared does not show the Srivari laddu, that laddus are made by Sri Vaishnava Brahmins following traditional methods, and urged devotees to rely only on official TTD communications. Source: TTD News, 17 September 2026

- Avoid 11 to 20 October if you need a senior citizen, disability, infant or NRI privilege darshan; those are cancelled.
- If you are going for the Garuda Seva on 16 October, arrive very early, expect ghat road vehicle limits as in September, and tag children.

Is there a restriction on private vehicles to Tirumala?
No. On 13 September 2026 TTD said social media claims of a 15,000-a-day limit on private vehicles were false and that no decision had been taken (TTD News, 13 September 2026). On the Garuda Seva day, however, two-wheelers and later four-wheelers were restricted on the ghat road (The Hans India, 20 September 2026), so expect temporary limits on peak festival days.
Are the laddu complaints on social media true?
TTD called a post claiming coconut fibre in the laddu baseless (TTD News, 17 September 2026) and described a viral video about a thread as unverified (TTD News, 24 August 2026). It asked devotees to rely only on official TTD communications and to report concerns to TTD.
What is coming up at Tirumala after October?
Several festivals are expected in November, including Deepavali Asthanam, Nagula Chavithi, the Pushpa Yagam and Karthika Deepotsavam, but TTD had not published its November list by 9 October 2026, so these are expected - TTD will announce the official schedule.
