Urgent Call: Every Indian Must Stand with Hindus Facing Persecution in Bangladesh – December 2025 Update
As we mark Christmas Day 2025, the plight of our Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh demands immediate global attention. Recent reports from December 2025 highlight a disturbing surge in targeted violence against the Hindu minority amid ongoing political unrest in the neighboring country. From brutal lynchings to mob attacks, the situation has sparked widespread outrage in India and beyond. At Hindutone.com, we stand firmly with the persecuted Hindus and call on every Indian to raise their voice, support relief efforts, and demand justice.
Recent Incidents Highlighting the Crisis
The most shocking event occurred on December 18, 2025, when Dipu Chandra Das, a 25-27-year-old Hindu garment factory worker from Mymensingh’s Baluka area, was lynched by a mob over alleged blasphemy accusations. His body was set on fire in a public square — a heinous act condemned even by Bangladesh’s interim government under Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus as having “no place in the new Bangladesh.” At least 10-12 arrests have been made, but the incident has fueled fears of rising intolerance.
A Bangladeshi Hindu resident described the terror: “We are alive… we are living like walking corpses.” Violence is reportedly concentrated in rural areas, with homes burned, lootings, and open threats. This follows a pattern of attacks since the political changes in August 2024, including arson on temples, vandalism, and mob violence often linked to blasphemy claims or political instability.
Human rights groups and the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council have documented thousands of incidents against minorities since mid-2024, with ongoing concerns about impunity for perpetrators.
India’s Strong Response and Nationwide Protests
The news has ignited massive solidarity across India. Protests erupted in cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Bhopal, and more, organized by groups including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, BJP leaders, Congress workers, and others. Demonstrators gathered outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi, burning effigies, chanting slogans like “Hindu Hatiya Band Karo,” and demanding protection for minorities.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh called the violence a “stain on humanity,” while BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi noted how these targeted attacks “have deeply hurt Hindus within India.” Protests also occurred in West Bengal (led by Suvendu Adhikari), Bihar, and other states, with calls for India to take decisive action — from diplomatic pressure to supporting persecuted families.
Even international voices, including US lawmakers, have condemned the lynching, urging accountability.
Why Every Indian Must Act Now
Hindus in Bangladesh, historically around 8% of the population, have faced recurring persecution during political turmoil. Many trace their roots to the same cultural and historical ties as Indian Hindus. Ignoring this crisis risks further marginalization and forced migration.
As Indians, our dharma calls us to protect our own:
- Raise Awareness — Share verified news and stories on social media.
- Support Relief Efforts — Contribute to trusted organizations aiding Hindu families in Bangladesh.
- Demand Diplomatic Action — Urge the Indian government to prioritize minority protection in bilateral talks.
- Stand in Solidarity — Join or organize peaceful protests and vigils.
The bond between India and Bangladesh is deep, forged in 1971 when Indian forces fought for Bangladesh’s independence. Today, that spirit must extend to safeguarding innocent lives from extremist violence.
Hindutone.com urges every reader: Do not remain silent. Every voice counts in this fight for justice and humanity.
