Religious Significance of Shri Durgiana Mandir, Amritsar
Thousands of devotees visit daily, the temple says. Shri Bada Hanuman Mandir, at the north-western corner of the complex, is associated by tradition with Lord Rama's Ashwamedha ceremony, and legend holds that Sita and her sons Luv and Kush stayed here.
The 10-day Langoor Mela at the Bada Hanuman temple begins on the first day of Sharad Navratri and continues until Dussehra; participants remove their langoor outfits near the banyan tree on the following Ekadashi (temple).

The temple tank measures 541 ft by 432 ft and is 20 ft deep; according to government records cited by the temple, it was built in the 16th century.
In 2014 the Shri Durgiana Committee and the Amritsar Improvement Trust began a plan to redevelop and beautify the area around the shrine, the Hindustan Times reported.
