Why Vaikuntha Ekadashi is the Most Sacred Ekadashi

The Bhavishya Purana narrates: the demon Muran was harassing the devas. Vishnu created a beautiful maiden from his own body — Ekadashi Devi — who slew Muran on this day. Pleased by her devotion, Vishnu granted her a boon: "Whoever fasts on Ekadashi and remembers me will attain moksha."
