Brahmātmaikyasvarūpiṇī (ब्रह्मात्मैक्यस्वरूपिणी, IAST: Brahmātmaikyasvarūpiṇī) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She whose very nature is the oneness of Brahman and Ātman”. Brahma (the Absolute), ātman (the individual self), aikya (unity, oneness), and svarūpiṇī (she whose essential form is) combine to declare that Lalitā embodies the supreme Vedāntic truth of the identity of the individual soul with the universal Absolute.

Meaning, etymology & significance

This name is a direct Sanskrit encoding of the mahāvākya 'tat tvam asi' — 'that thou art' — the great Upaniṣadic proclamation of non-dual identity. Lalitā is thus not merely a deity who grants liberation but is herself the living reality of liberation, her very form being the inseparable oneness of macrocosm and microcosm. Svarūpiṇī, 'she whose own form (sva-rūpa) is,' emphasises that this unity is her intrinsic nature, not an achieved state.

This magnificent compound is a jewel of Śrī Vidyā theology and is more suited to contemplative recitation and philosophical study than to use as a personal given name; its great length makes everyday use impractical. Devotees inspired by it may use the shorter Svarūpiṇī or simply Aikya as a derived name.
