Dhyānagamyā (ध्यानगम्या, IAST: Dhyānagamyā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who is attained only through meditation”. Dhyāna (meditation, contemplation) and gamyā (approachable, reachable) together declare that the Goddess does not reveal Herself through outward ceremony alone but graciously opens Herself to the still, inward gaze of the meditating heart.

Meaning, etymology & significance

Dhyāna is central to all Hindu spiritual practice, indicating the sustained, unbroken flow of attention toward a divine form or principle. Gamyā, from gam (to go, to reach), indicates accessibility — not inaccessibility, but a specific path of access. The name thus lovingly instructs the devotee: the way to Her is through the silence of meditation rather than mere outer ritual.

This contemplative epithet of Lalitā is particularly cherished in the Śrīvidyā tradition, where inner worship (antaryāga) is held supreme. As a given name Dhyānagamyā is uncommon; pronounce dhyā-na-gam-yā.
