Jalandharasthita (जालन्धरस्थिता, IAST: Jālandharasthitā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who dwells in the sacred seat of Jalandhara”. Jālandhara is one of the foremost pīṭhas (sacred power-seats) in the Śākta tradition, located in the Punjab region, and sthitā denotes the Goddess's abiding, active presence there.

Meaning, etymology & significance

The Śākta Pīṭhas are sites where the body of Satī fell, each becoming a locus of the Goddess's living power. Jālandhara, where Satī's left breast is said to have fallen, is venerated as Tripurāmallinī and is among the eighteen mahāpīṭhas. This name of Lalitā affirms that she is not merely a transcendent abstraction but presides with grace in every consecrated sacred ground.

As an epithet it belongs to Lalitā Mahātripurasundarī in her aspect as the omnipresent deity of the pīṭha network; the name is also associated with the Tripurāmallinī manifestation worshipped at Jālandhara. As a personal name it is long and descriptive, more suitable for devotional recitation than everyday use.
