Krodhakara Ankushojjvala (क्रोधाकाराङ्कुशोज्ज्वला, IAST: Krodhākārāṅkuśojjvalā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “Blazing with the goad that is divine wrath”. From krodha (wrathful energy), ākāra (having the form of), aṅkuśa (elephant goad), and ujjvalā (blazing, shining brilliantly), this name proclaims that Lalitā's goad blazes as the very embodiment of righteous, purifying wrath.

Meaning, etymology & significance

In the Śrīvidyā tradition, the aṅkuśa represents the power that restrains and redirects the wandering mind, corresponding to kriyā-śakti (the power of action). Krodha here is not petty anger but the fierce, focused energy that cuts through obstruction and delusion — a form of divine compassion that does not tolerate the soul's continued ignorance. Ujjvalā adds the imagery of blazing fire, linking this goad to the transformative light of the chidagni.

This epithet is recited in meditative worship of Lalitā's warrior form and is closely associated with the Śrīcakra's outer āvaraṇas where protective fierce energies reside. As a personal name, only the element Ujjvalā or Aṅkuśā would be practically usable.
