Kshetrapala Samarchita (क्षेत्रपालसमर्चिता, IAST: Kṣetrapālasamarcitā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who is worshipped by the guardians of sacred fields”. From kṣetrapāla (the guardian deity of a field or sacred space) and samarcitā (fully honoured, reverently worshipped), this name reveals that even the divine protectors of sacred sites bow before Lalithā as their supreme sovereign.

Meaning, etymology & significance

Kṣetrapālas are the fierce guardian deities stationed at the boundaries of villages, temples, and ritual fields to ward off malevolent forces; their homage to Lalithā indicates that she is the source of their own protective power. Samarcitā derives from sam + arc (to honour fully, to worship with all due rites), conveying the complete and reverential nature of their adoration.

This epithet establishes Lalithā's supremacy in the cosmological hierarchy of sacred guardianship, a theme important in both Śākta and Śaiva tantra; as a compound descriptive epithet it is not suitable as a given name, pronounced kshe-tra-paa-la-sa-mar-chi-TAA.
