Kshetrasvarupa (क्षेत्रस्वरूपा, IAST: Kṣetrasvarūpā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She whose own form is the sacred field of existence”. From kṣetra (field, body, sacred ground) and svarūpā (one whose own form is…), this name declares that Lalithā herself is the kṣetra — the primordial matrix within which all life, experience, and liberation unfold.

Meaning, etymology & significance

In the Bhagavad Gītā, kṣetra refers to the body and the field of experience, while the knower of the field is kṣetrajña. By calling Lalithā Kṣetrasvarūpā, the name unifies both: she is not merely the knower but the very field itself in its divine essence. This reflects the tantric non-dual vision where matter and consciousness are inseparable aspects of the Goddess.

This epithet is particularly significant in Śākta pīṭha theology, where specific geographical and bodily sites are venerated as Devī's own form; as a compound it is better suited for devotional use than as a given name, pronounced kshe-tra-sva-roo-PAA.
