Kulayogini (कुलयोगिनी, IAST: kulayoginī) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “The Yoginī supreme among all Kula practitioners”. Kula (sacred lineage or the sixty-four Yoginī clans) joined with yoginī (a female master of yogic power) reveals Lalitā as the transcendent Yoginī who is both the source and the highest perfection of all Kula sādhanā.

Meaning, etymology & significance

In the Tāntric framework, the sixty-four Yoginīs are arranged in kulas or clans, each presiding over different powers and cosmic functions; Lalitā as Kulayoginī stands above all these groupings as their primordial sovereign. The yoginī is not merely a practitioner but a being in whom Śakti is fully awakened and wielded with sovereign freedom, and adding kula specifies that this mastery flows through the sacred lineage-current itself. This name therefore celebrates the Goddess as the first and greatest among all Tāntric adepts.

This epithet is cherished in Śrīvidyā upāsanā, where the Goddess is visualized as surrounded by her circle of Yoginīs yet infinitely surpassing them all.
