Pranarupini (प्राणरूपिणी, IAST: Prāṇarūpiṇī) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who is embodied as vital life-force itself”. Combining prāṇa (life-force) with rūpiṇī (one who has the form or nature of), this name asserts that Lalitā does not merely give life—She is life itself in its most essential, pulsing form.

Meaning, etymology & significance

Where Prāṇadā speaks of Her gift, Prāṇarūpiṇī speaks of Her identity: She is not separate from the life She bestows but is constituted of prāṇa in its fullness. This Tantric understanding dissolves the boundary between the worshipper's own breath and the presence of the Goddess. Every inhalation becomes a reception of Her grace and every exhalation an offering back to Her.

The name is beloved in prāṇāyāma-oriented Śrīvidyā practice, where the breath itself is worshipped as the Goddess; it is pronounced PRAA-na-roo-pi-nee, five syllables, with the first and third long.
