Śivajñānapradāyinī (शिवज्ञानप्रदायिनी, IAST: Śivajñānapradāyinī) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who bestows the supreme knowledge of Śiva”. From Śiva (the auspicious absolute), jñāna (transcendental knowledge), and pradāyinī (she who graciously bestows), this name glorifies Lalitā as the giver of the highest liberation-granting wisdom.

Meaning, etymology & significance

Śivajñāna refers not merely to knowledge about Śiva but to the direct experiential realization of non-dual consciousness, the knowledge by which the seeker recognizes their own identity with the auspicious absolute. Pradāyinī is a feminine agent noun from pra-dā, to give forth abundantly. Lalitā thus graces her devotees with the final liberating insight.

This epithet is beloved in the Śrī Vidyā tradition, where worship of Lalitā is understood as the direct path to śivajñāna. Pronounced shee-vah-GYAA-nah-prah-DAA-yee-nee.
