Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta is a popular Hindu temple most visited in Telangana devoted to Lord Narasimha Swamy, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. He was the son of the great sage “Rishyasrunga and Santa Devi” who did fasting inside a cave with the blessings of Anjaneya, one of the Hindu gods known as Hanuman on this hill between Bhongir or Bhuvanagiri and Raigiri which is in the Nalgonda district of Telangana, India. Pleased with his deep devotion and love, Lord Narasimha Swami, an avatar of Lord Vishnu appeared before him in his five different forms namely Sri JwalaNarasimha, Sri Ugra Sri Yogananda, Sri Gandabherunda, and Sri Lakshminarasimha. This story marked the beginning and people started to worship all his five avatars as Pancha Narasimha Kshetram.
The second famous tale of this temple says, Legend Sriman Narayana, who was also got pleased with Yada’s confession, sent Sri Anjaneya or Hanuman to guide the rishi to a holy spot, where the Lord Vishnu appeared to him in the form of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami.
The third tale says that after Yadarishi attained moksha or divinity, a number of tribals living near that area, hearing of the Lord’s appearance, came to worship him at the temple Yadadri. But, not being very studied, these devotees began to worship in an improper manner. Because of this, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami had moved into the hills. The tribals searched for many years to find their Lord Narasimha Swami.
After many years had passed, Lord Narasimha appeared in the dream of a devotee lady among the tribe, guiding her to a large cave, where Lord revealed himself in his five majestic Avatars or forms.
The structure of this temple is finely sculpted in forms that later came to be worshipped as Pancha Narasimha Kshetram in a cave. There are Puranas and traditional accounts of this Shrine, which are universally popular among the devotees. There is also a mention of the origin of this temple in the Skanda Puranam, one of the famous 18 Puranas.

The significance of the temple was a visitor named King Tribhuvana Malludu, after winning a battle in Telangana, he established a fort on Ekashila Hillock one of the hillocks at Bhongir in regard to his victory in Telangana . At the same time, he visited Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy several times in the 15th century.
And also in the 15th century the “Vijayanagara Samrjya Samrat Sri Krishnadevarayalu” wrote in his autobiography that during the war he visited the temple and offered his prayers to the Lord for victory and also he got a son at the mercy of Lord Narasimha Swamy.
