Bhaktipriya (भक्तिप्रिया, IAST: Bhaktipriyā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who is beloved of devotion; lover of bhakti”. From bhakti (loving devotion, attachment to the Divine) and priyā (dear, beloved, fond of), this name declares that of all the paths to Lalitā — yoga, jñāna, or ritual — it is bhakti that she holds most dear, for she is won not by scholarship or austerity alone but by the purity of a loving heart.

Bhakti derives from the root bhaj, meaning to share, to worship, to be devoted — it is a participation in the divine rather than a mere reaching toward it.
