Prasiddha (प्रसिद्धा, IAST: prasiddhā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who is supremely renowned and universally celebrated”. From the prefix pra- (greatly, exceedingly) and siddha (accomplished, established, famed), prasiddhā proclaims that Lalitā's glory is not hidden but universally known — she is the most celebrated of all divine beings.

Meaning, etymology & significance

Prasiddha conveys both fame and metaphysical certainty: what is prasiddha is not only well-known but established beyond all doubt. Applied to the Goddess, the name declares that her existence, her grace, and her supremacy are the most self-evident truths in all creation. In the Śrī Vidyā tradition, Lalitā's prasiddhi is understood as the natural overflow of her śakti — she cannot be concealed.

Though more commonly used as an adjective in Sanskrit literature, Prasiddha and its feminine Prasiddhi are sometimes given as devotional names to girls; Prasiddhi is perhaps more natural as a given name. Pronounced pruh-sid-dhaa, with the doubled consonant slightly held.
