Trijagadvandya (त्रिजगद्वन्द्या, IAST: trijagadvandyā) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “She who is worshipped by all three worlds”. From 'tri' (three), 'jagat' (world, that which moves), and 'vandyā' (worthy of worship, from 'vand' to salute reverently), this name proclaims that every being in all three realms bows before Lalitā.

Meaning, etymology & significance

The three worlds (triloka) encompass all of existence: the celestial (svarga), the earthly (mṛtyu), and the nether (pātāla). 'Vandyā' comes from the root 'vand' (to praise, to bow), the same root that gives us 'vandanā' (salutation). As Trijagadvandyā, the Goddess receives the prostrations of gods, humans, and all beings in every plane of reality — her worship is universal and unconditional, not limited to any caste, creed, or world.

This epithet of Lalitā Devī captures the universal scope of her sovereignty and the devotion she inspires across all planes of existence. As a given name it is long; Vandya or Vandita may serve as practical short forms. Pronounced tri-JAH-gad-VAND-yah.
