The Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple is a Hindu temple to Krishna, worshipped as Parthasarathy — Arjuna's charioteer — on the banks of the Pamba river at Aranmula in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Vishnu, according to Kerala Tourism and the Travancore Devaswom Board's Sabarimala portal.
Faith & Tradition
The temple is one of the most important Krishna temples in Kerala and one of five ancient shrines in the Chengannur area associated with the Mahabharata; tradition attributes this one to Arjuna, the Sabarimala portal and Kerala Tourism note. According to legend, the name Aranmula comes from the raft of six ('aru') bamboo pieces ('mula') on which the deity's image was brought here.
Heritage
The temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandham, the Tamil hymns of the Alvar saints, according to the Sabarimala portal.
