Ramappa Temple likewise called as the Ramalingeswara temple. This temple is located 77 kilometres away from Warangal, the place of historical monuments and cultures.This place was the former capital city in Kakatiya reign. Ramappa temple is located at southern part of India in Telangana State at a distance of 157 kilometres from the crowded city Hyderabad. This Temple is located in a valley to the village of Palampet Venkatapur Mandal, formerly under Mulug Taluq of Bhupalpally Jayashankar district. It is a small village that had it’s gloryin the days in the 13th and 14th centuries. The scripted notes on the temple wall shows that this historical temple was built in the year 1213 AD by a general “Recherla Rudra”, when Ganapati Deva was in rule.

The temple is in pentagonal in shape, raised on a huge platform about six feet from the ground with impressive architecture which is one of its kinds. This magnificent platform connects the entrance hall, dance hall and the main sanctum. There are about 32 pillars with elegant and complex carvings and even the roof is covered with sculptors of the warrior Gods and devotees. To the left side of the main temple shrine, there is a pillar which produces music upon which you can play primary musical notes of classic. On the top most part of the pillar, one can find stunning carved drummers in various dancing postures placed.

This historical temple is dedicated to the God Ramalingeswara Swamy. Unlike the other temples this temple is named after the sculptor “Ramappa”.

The temple roof consists of sculptures, representing scenes from Ramayana, Hindu epics of Shiva Puranam and other ancient texts. Kameswara and Koteswara shrines are two sub shrines built here. The Kameswara Temple is presently in ruins.
