The famous Sanghi Temple remains one of the recent religious displays of Hyderabad city, in Telangana state. The temple is situated in Sanghi Nagar. It is 25 kilometres away from Hyderabad.

Till now all the temples you have visited or witnessed is named after the deity but, in this case, the temple is named after a place it is located in. The Sanghi Temple carries the name of the group that has constructed it and was developed by the people of Sanghi Group, the leading industrialists of South India, known for their kindness, based at Hyderabad.

The temple is dedicated to Sri Venkateshwara. It also includes the idols of other deities to worship.

Throwing light on the history of Sanghi Temple. The Sanghi Temple is certainly a modern structure. It has been raised as a combination of the ancient architectural styles of the Cholas of the TamilNadu, and the Chalukyas of present-day Karnataka. Sanghi temple was built in the year 1991 and completed its construction only in 18 months. This grand structure stands royally on the Paramananda Giri hillock.

Discussing the architecture of Sanghi Temple. The Sanghi temple remains a homogeneous mixture of the old and the new styles involved. While its architecture and sculptures are modelled and designed on the styles of ancient times, this basically remains a place of worship meant for the present times and for people who seek peace.

The main tower that strikes our sight from a long distance is the Raja Gopuram at the entrance, which is 15 feet tall. The Vimanam or the vehicle is 32 feet in height. The presiding deity worshipped here is Sri Venkateshwara Swamy, an appearance of the supreme God of protection and aid, Lord Vishnu. Worshipping his idol installed in the sanctum sanctorum is said to be very similar to that of worshipping the deity of the very famous temple Tirupati.

There is a temple built for Sri Anjaneya or Lord Hanuman at the foot of the hill. The temple has a fleeing of steps that lead to the top, with stone elephant heads that form the bannister. The doors at the entrance of the temple are heavily decorated.

The other temples included in the Sanghi temple are the deities of Goddess Parvati, Sri Anjaneya, Lord Shiva with Goddess Kamalambika, Goddess Durga Maa, Sri Rama, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kartikeya.

At the right of the main deity of Sri Venkateshwara. is the residence of Goddess Padmavathi located. Goddess Padmavathi is seated on a lotus and holding lotuses in her hand.

The Ashtalakshmi temple is located between Sri Venkateshwara and Goddess Padmavathi. Goddess Ashtalakshmi will be appearing in her eight forms, is seated on a lotus, and two of her hands imply the Abaya Mudra. The other two hands hold a lotus and a Vara Mudra or blessing. Close to the temple of Sri Venkateshwara there located Lord Sri Rama temple, with his wife Goddess Sita Devi, brother Lakshmana, and Lord Sri Anjaneya.

The temple of Lord Sri Vijayaganapathi is next to that of Lord Sri Rama. To the left of Lord Sri Venkateshwara is the all-powerful God of the Trinity, Lord Shiva, seated on a lotus, with the moon adorning his head and a trident in his hand. Standing next to him is Goddess Maha Shakti. Located away is the shrine of Goddess Durga Maa, holding a lotus in her right hand and to the left of the Lord Ganesha temple is that of Kartikeya’s. These Navagraha deities are in an open temple in the complex constructed.

Moving onto the significance of the Sanghi Temple. The temple system has a sacred garden known as the Pavithra Vanam. The flowers and leaves that yield in this garden are used in decorating the idols in performing various rituals. The Kalyana Mandapam of this structure, where marriages and other auspicious functions are performed with religious grace.

There are many valid points around, too, from where the visitors can cherish the architectural splendour of the temple and enjoy its serene beauty. There is also a well-maintained lawn in front of the temple, where people can sit and relax enjoying their peace.

This huge temple fixation thus invites anyone’s aesthetic sense. Hence it is no surprise that this place has become one of the extremely popular magnetism, a religious site, an important destination for tourists. The temple looks magnificent in the night, with its bright lights and well-lit lamps all around from distance.
