- Ajeerne bhojanam visham — Eating again before the previous meal is digested is like taking poison. Hunger is the signal that the earlier food has been digested.
- Ardha-roga-hari nidraa — Proper sleep cures half of one's ailments.
- Mudga-daali gada-vyaali — Among pulses, green gram (moong) is the best; it boosts immunity.
- Bhagna-asthi-sandhaanakaro lashunah — Garlic is traditionally believed to aid the mending of broken bones.
- Ati sarvatra varjayet — However tasty, never take anything in excess; be moderate.
- Naasti moolam-anaushadham — There is no vegetable/plant without some medicinal value.
