Tubhyam (तुभ्यम्, IAST: Tubhyam) is a Sanskrit-origin Hindu girl-name meaning “To You; offered entirely unto You”. Tubhyam is the dative form of the second-person pronoun tvam ('you'), functioning within the namāvalī as a devotional exclamation — a complete offering of the self directly to the Devī in the second person.

Meaning, etymology & significance

Like the preceding tasmai, tubhyam marks a striking shift within the Lalitā Sahasranāma from third-person epithets to direct second-person address, collapsing the distance between worshipper and worshipped. The utterance 'namaḥ tubhyam' — 'salutation to You' — is the essence of bhakti in its purest grammatical form. This shift invites the devotee into an intimate, face-to-face relationship with Lalitā.

As a grammatical pronoun, tubhyam cannot function as a given name and appears solely as a sacred liturgical expression within the Sahasranāma context. It is best appreciated as a devotional pivot-point rather than a name to be extracted.
