  • Clay (shadu) Ganesha idol — unpainted or naturally coloured
  • Chowki / wooden platform (peeta)
  • Red or yellow cloth (never black)
  • Kalash — copper/brass pot, water, a coin, akshata, 5 mango leaves, a coconut
  • Mango-leaf toran and marigold for the doorway

For the puja

  • Haldi, kumkum, gulal, abir
  • Akshata (unbroken rice mixed with a little haldi)
  • Chandan (sandalwood paste), janeu (sacred thread)
