Welcome to the second sacred day of Navratri 2025! Today, September 23rd, we honor Maa Brahmacharini, the second form of Goddess Durga. Known as the epitome of devotion and penance, she represents the unmarried form of Parvati who performed intense austerities to win Lord Shiva as her consort.
About Maa Brahmacharini
Name Meaning: “Brahmacharini” means one who practices devout austerity and celibacy in pursuit of divine knowledge.
Appearance: Maa Brahmacharini appears in a peaceful, serene form, holding a rosary (japa mala) in her right hand and a kamandalu (water pot) in her left hand. She walks barefoot, symbolizing her journey of penance.
