Saraswati Pushkaralu 2025: A Grand Celebration at Kaleshwaram

Kaleshwaram, Telangana – The sacred town of Kaleshwaram, revered as Telangana’s Dakshina Prayag, is radiating spiritual energy as the historic Saraswati Pushkaralu 2025 commenced on May 15, 2025. This 12-day spiritual festival, continuing until May 26, 2025, marks the first Saraswati Pushkaralu since the formation of Telangana, making it a milestone celebration for both devotees and the state.

Pushkara Snanam – Param Pavitram

The holy dip at the Triveni Sangamam—where the Godavari, Pranahita, and the invisible Saraswati rivers converge—is considered supremely sacred. This ritual is believed to cleanse sins and bestow divine blessings upon those who partake.

A Grand Inauguration

The festival began with grandeur at the Triveni Sangamam in Kaleshwaram, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu performed the Pushkara Snanam and offered special prayers alongside his family.

The highlight of the inauguration was the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who unveiled a majestic idol of Goddess Saraswati and took part in the Godavari Harati and Pushkara Snanam at 5:00 PM on May 15. His participation underscored the state’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

Spiritual Significance

Celebrated once every 12 years, when Jupiter enters Gemini, Saraswati Pushkaralu is a rare and divine occasion dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and the arts.

Kaleshwaram’s Triveni Sangamam, believed to host the Gupta Saraswati (the invisible underground river), is one of the holiest sites for spiritual activities like Pinda Pradanam, often compared with Kashi. Devotees from across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka are expected to gather here, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

Extensive Arrangements by the Telangana Government

With an allocation of ₹21.56 crore, the Telangana government has ensured top-notch infrastructure and amenities for pilgrims:

  • New bathing ghats, permanent restrooms, clean drinking water, changing rooms, and pilgrim shelters have been constructed.
  • A tent city, modeled after the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, has been set up near the Western Ghat (VIP Ghat) with temporary lighting, sanitation facilities, and uninterrupted power supply.
  • TGSRTC is operating special buses from Hyderabad to Kaleshwaram, while river rides are being arranged in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh.

A dedicated mobile app and website provide real-time updates on transportation, accommodations, and daily events.

Safety & Sanitation

  • 3,500 police personnel are deployed across three shifts, with 200 CCTV cameras ensuring crowd control and public safety.
  • Interstate coordination has been established for seamless traffic and security operations.
  • 50 special officers from the Panchayat Raj Department are managing sanitation.
  • Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has stressed the importance of maintaining a plastic-free river environment.

A Call to Devotees

The Saraswati Pushkaralu 2025 is not just a religious ritual—it’s a celebration of Telangana’s cultural legacy. The Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple, an architectural and spiritual marvel, will be a focal point for devotees seeking blessings from both Lord Shiva and Goddess Saraswati.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has extended invitations to spiritual leaders and devotees across India, encouraging everyone to experience the sanctity and grace of Pushkara Snanam.
