Introduction | परिचय

Ashtottara Shatanamavali (अष्टोत्तर शतनामावली) means "a garland of one hundred and eight names." The number 108 is deeply sacred in Hindu tradition — there are 108 Upanishads, 108 beads on a japa mala, and 108 energy points (Marmas) in the human body. Chanting the 108 names of Maa Durga is considered equivalent to performing a complete Durga puja.

Reciting these names during Navratri, on Ashtami, on Fridays, or during morning and evening prayers bestows the devotee with protection, strength, courage, prosperity, and liberation from fear. Each name reveals a unique aspect of the Goddess's infinite divine nature.
