Hindu Temple of Central Indiana (HTCI) — 3350 N. German Church Road, Indianapolis, IN 46235 — is hiring for two full-time Shaivite Hindu Priest positions (one Tamil-speaking, one Telugu-speaking). Fresh August 2026 hiring cycle.

Position

Role: Full-Time Hindu Priest (Shaivite tradition). Employment: Permanent, up to 55 hours/week during festival weekends. Salary: Commensurate with experience; includes healthcare, paid time off, possible relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Nithya Pujas, Archana, Abhishekam, Aarti for temple deities.
  • Special pujas: Satyanarayana, Navdurga, festival-specific rituals.
  • Havans / Homams as scheduled; lead group chanting.
  • Shraddha and cremation ceremonies for community members.
  • Weekend and festival service coverage (up to 55 hours/week during peaks).
  • Collaborate with staff, committees, volunteers upholding Sanatana Dharma.

Eligibility

  • Strong knowledge of Vedic rituals + Agama Shastra (Smartha, Vaishnava, or Shaivite).
  • Fully qualified to perform Shodasha Karmas.
  • Valid certification from a recognized Hindu religious institution or university.
  • Language: Tamil MUST for one role; Telugu MUST for the other. Kannada / Hindi preferred.
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Experience in Alankaram and leading bhajans desirable.
  • US Green Card holders or US Citizens preferred.
