How Bengal celebrates
In West Bengal, Navaratri is above all Durga Puja: community (sarbojanin) pujas in pandals, household pujas in old family homes, and the immersion of the images on Bijoya Dashami or the days after, followed by Bijoya greetings and sweets. Each district adds its own colour, from old zamindari-house pujas to riverside immersions.
