Planning a Navratri temple visit

  • Festival days draw very large crowds; go early, follow the queue arrangements and keep children and elders close.
  • Dress modestly and traditionally, deposit footwear at the counters, and check rules on phones, cameras and bags.
  • For Vidyarambham in Kerala, many temples ask families to register or book a coupon in advance.
  • Confirm timings on the day: temples often adjust darshan hours for special pujas and processions.
