About Hindu Temple and Cultural Center (HTCC)

The Hindu Temple and Cultural Center (HTCC) in Bothell, WA, is a prominent non-profit Hindu temple serving the diverse Indian diaspora and broader community in the Greater Seattle area. Dedicated to Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) with shrines for Shiva, Ganesha, and other deities, HTCC follows both South Indian (Vaikhanasa/Smaartha/Agama) and North Indian traditions. The temple hosts daily pujas, major festivals, cultural events, and off-site religious services, promoting Sanatan Dharma and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily temple pujas, abhishekam, aarti, and special rituals in accordance with South Indian Agama (Vaikhanasa/Panchratra/Smaartha) or North Indian Vedic traditions.
  • Conduct homams, ceremonies, festivals, and community-specific observances (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Punjabi styles).
  • Expert deity decoration (alankaram/alankaaram) for Moola Murthy and Utsava Murthy using various materials.
  • Prepare religious/devotional offerings (neivedhyam/bhog/prasad) for daily use and festivals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanctity of garbha griha (sanctum sanctorum) and all shrines.
  • Provide off-site priest services (home pujas, ceremonies) within the Greater Seattle area (King, Pierce, Snohomish counties) as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with temple management and devotees for smooth operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional temple experience (in India, USA, or elsewhere) post-Vedic/religious education.
  • Expertise in South Indian Agama traditions (Vaikhanasa, Panchratra, Smaartha, Shaivagama) OR North Indian Vedic/Sanatan rituals.
  • Proficiency in relevant regional languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sanskrit (chanting and rituals).
  • Ability to perform cross-sampradaya activities and adapt to diverse community needs.
  • Strong devotional cooking skills for neivedhyam preparation preferred.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the USA (temple may assist with R1 Visa for qualified candidates).
  • Commitment to temple service, punctuality, and maintaining spiritual discipline.
