The Lakshmi Puja muhurat in Noida is 5:54 PM – 7:49 PM IST, calculated by HinduTone with the Drik Panchang method, and sunset is at about 5:30 PM. Noida celebrates Diwali the housing-society way: towers lit with fairy lights, shared pujas and cultural evenings in society clubhouses, shopping at Atta Market and the Sector 18 malls, and Lakshmi-Ganesh puja at home at dusk. This guide covers the dates and times, the NCR cracker rules and this year's sale sites, the days after Diwali, temples and practical tips for society living.
Editor's note (8 November 2026): puja times are HinduTone's own calculation for Noida. The cracker rules are from the Supreme Court's order of 2 November 2026, as reported by LiveLaw and Bar & Bench. The sale sites and shop rules are from Amar Ujala (3 and 5 November 2026), quoting Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey. We did not find a published 2026 Diwali traffic diversion plan for Noida.

Crackers in Noida: the NCR rules
Delhi-NCR, including Gautam Buddh Nagar, has a year-round ban on firecrackers. On 2 November 2026 the Supreme Court allowed a limited relaxation for Diwali:
| Rule | What applies |
|---|---|
| Which crackers | Only CSIR-NEERI-certified green crackers, with a product QR code on every box |
| Days for bursting | Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November only |
| Hours | 6 AM to 7 AM and 8 PM to 10 PM |
| No-cracker zones | Near hospitals, nursing homes, health centres, old-age homes, educational institutions and silence zones |
| After Diwali | The full ban returns from 9 November: no crackers on Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj or later |
Where they were sold: Amar Ujala reported that more than 100 licensed green-cracker stalls were set up at three sites, selling on 7 and 8 November:
- Ramlila Ground, Sector 62 (Noida zone)
- Ramlila Ground, Sector 46 (Noida zone)
- Kabaddi ground near the Garhi roundabout (Central Noida zone)
As of 5 November, no temporary licence application had been received for Greater Noida. Stalls had to be in tin sheds at least 3 metres apart, inside a 50-metre safety zone, laid out so fire engines could reach every shop, with a fire extinguisher in each and no lamps, candles or open wiring. Licences needed NOCs from the Noida Authority and the fire department.
In housing societies: burst green crackers only in the open area your RWA designates, never on balconies, in basements, near parked cars, transformers or DG sets, and keep fire exits clear.
Read our firecracker safety tips and the Delhi firecracker rules 2026. For emergencies call 112, and for fire 101.
After Diwali: Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj
- Monday, 9 November: the Amavasya ends at 12:31 PM; many families keep the day quiet. The cracker ban is back in force.
- Tuesday, 10 November: Govardhan Puja and Annakut. Families shape a small Govardhan in the courtyard or on a tray in flats, offer Annakut and worship cows; ISKCON and Krishna temples offer a large Annakut. See Govardhan Puja and Annakut 2026.
- Wednesday, 11 November: Bhai Dooj and Chitragupta Puja. Sisters apply tilak to their brothers; Kayastha families worship Chitragupta with pens and account books. See Bhai Dooj 2026 and Chitragupta Puja 2026.
For the meaning of each day, see the five days of Diwali explained.
Markets and temples
- Atta Market and Sector 18: Noida's busiest shopping district, with the street market and the malls around it.
- Brahmaputra Market (Sector 29): sweets, snacks and festive shopping.
- ISKCON Noida: the Hare Krishna temple usually celebrates Govardhan Puja with an Annakut offering.
- Swaminarayan Akshardham, Delhi: just across the Yamuna from Noida, and a popular festive-season visit.
Check each temple's notice for darshan and aarti timings on festival days.
Getting around
We did not find a published 2026 Diwali traffic diversion plan for Noida. Expect heavy traffic around Sector 18, Atta Market and the malls in the evenings. The Delhi Metro Blue Line and the Noida Metro Aqua Line are the easiest way to reach Sector 18 and Greater Noida, and the Noida traffic police post advisories on their social media pages.
Practical tips
- Air quality: Noida's air is often "very poor" or "severe" in November, and usually worst the morning after Diwali. Keep children, older relatives and anyone with asthma indoors, check the AQI and consider an air purifier.
- Weather: early November is pleasant by day, around 15–30 °C, with smoggy mornings and evenings.
- Society safety: keep stairwells and fire exits clear, keep water and sand at the bursting spot, and never leave diyas burning unattended on balconies.
