Dashaphala Rahasyalu – Part 3
One of the most confidential subjects in Astrology is the question: When does a planet deliver its complete results during its Dasha? Many people assume that the moment a Dasha begins, its results manifest immediately. However, according to the Parashara system, the full results of a Dasha do not appear right at its commencement.
Only when the house occupied by the Dasha lord, the condition of that house lord, the Nakshatra lord of the Dasha lord, the Navamsa placement, and the transits of Jupiter and Saturn come together, do the Yoga results fully manifest.
Even if a Rajayoga exists in a horoscope, it remains dormant unless the relevant planetary Dasha arrives. Therefore, the sages considered the question “When will the Yoga fructify?” to be more important than “Does the Yoga exist?”
Even if the Dasha lord is exalted, if it is hemmed in between malefic planets, it may not be able to bestow its complete benefic results. Likewise, a debilitated planet receiving benefic aspects may produce results far better than expected. Hence, judging solely on exaltation or debilitation is not sufficient.
According to Maharshi Parashara, house lordship is of utmost importance. A naturally benefic planet, if it owns unfavorable houses, may still produce difficulties during its Dasha. Similarly, a naturally malefic planet, if it becomes a Yogakaraka, can bring remarkable progress and prosperity.
If the Dasha lord is connected with the 2nd or 11th houses, financial gains increase. If connected with the 5th or 9th houses, it brings fortune, virtuous deeds, and the blessings of teachers and gurus. A connection with the 10th house promotes career growth, position, status, and fame.
Another important secret is the examination of houses from the Dasha lord. For example, if Jupiter Mahadasha is running, Jupiter should be treated as a temporary Ascendant, and the houses should be analyzed from its position. This method reveals many subtle results.
In the Parashara tradition, the Navamsa chart is extremely important in Dasha analysis. A planet that appears strong in the Rashi chart may become weak in the Navamsa chart, reducing its results. Therefore, the Acharyas have stated that Dasha analysis without Navamsa examination is incomplete.
The transits of Jupiter and Saturn can either accelerate or delay Dasha results. Hence, Parashara taught that Dashas and transits must always be analyzed in conjunction with one another.
An Important Principle
Whatever the Dasha lord promises, the transit implements. Therefore, a transit cannot produce results without the support of the Dasha, and a Dasha cannot fully blossom without supportive transits. This is one of the profound secrets taught by the sages in the determination of Dasha results.
