About the role

HinduTone is a Hindu culture publication that covers festivals, temples, panchang, careers and NRI community life in English, Hindi and Telugu. As readership across these sections grows, more organisations want to work with us: temple trusts announcing events, community associations abroad, brands that serve Indian families, and advertisers looking for a trusted cultural audience. We are hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) to turn that interest into steady, well-managed partnerships and B2B revenue.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Hyderabad. You will own the revenue side of the business end to end, from building a pipeline to signing agreements and growing accounts year after year. You will work closely with our editorial and technology teams, so that every partnership fits the tone of the publication and respects its readers.

The role suits someone who already has B2B or technology sales or business development experience, enjoys building relationships over the long term, and is comfortable owning numbers. If you like the idea of selling something you can be proud of, and you understand why a culturally sensitive audience needs careful handling, we would like to hear from you.

What you will do

  • Build and manage a pipeline of advertisers, sponsors, partners and B2B clients across India and NRI markets.
  • Identify partnership opportunities around major festivals, temple events and seasonal content, and plan outreach well ahead of each season.
  • Run discovery conversations to understand what a partner wants to achieve, then shape a proposal that fits both their goals and HinduTone's content standards.
  • Prepare clear proposals, rate discussions and partnership decks, and handle negotiation through to a signed agreement.
  • Keep the CRM accurate and current, with every lead, stage, next step and expected value recorded.
  • Grow existing accounts by finding renewal and upsell opportunities, such as moving a one-time festival sponsor to a year-round arrangement.
  • Coordinate with the editorial team so sponsored or partner content is clearly labelled and meets our editorial guidelines.
  • Work with the technology team on what is practical to deliver on the HinduTone website and its English, Hindi and Telugu sections.
  • Track revenue, conversion rates and partner performance, and share a regular report with the owner.
  • Represent HinduTone in meetings with temple committees, community organisations and brand teams, in person in Hyderabad or online.
  • Spot patterns in what partners ask for and suggest new partnership formats to leadership.

Skills we are looking for

Must have

  • Prior experience in B2B or technology sales, or in business development, with a record of closing deals you can talk about in detail.
  • Confidence running a full sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying, proposing, negotiating and closing.
  • Daily working habits with a CRM tool and a disciplined approach to pipeline hygiene.
  • Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to write a proposal that a busy decision maker will actually read.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets for forecasting, tracking and simple reporting.
  • Sound judgement about what kind of partner and message suits a cultural and devotional audience.

Good to have

  • Working knowledge of Hindi or Telugu for conversations with temple trusts and regional partners.
  • Experience selling digital advertising, sponsorships or content partnerships.
  • Contacts among NRI community associations, cultural organisations or brands that serve Indian families abroad.
  • Familiarity with basic website analytics, so you can explain audience reach and engagement to a partner.
  • Experience presenting to committees or boards where decisions are made collectively.

Who should apply

This role is for professionals with prior B2B or technology sales or business development experience. We have not set a fixed number of years; what matters is that you have owned a pipeline, closed deals yourself and managed client relationships after the signature.

A degree in business, marketing, commerce, engineering or a related field is welcome, but equivalent practical experience counts just as much. You should be able to work from Hyderabad on a hybrid basis, attending the office for meetings and team days while working from home for part of the week.

You will do well here if you are organised, honest with partners about what we can and cannot deliver, and respectful of the traditions our readers care about. Candidates who have sold to small organisations as well as large companies will find that range useful, because our partners include both.

How you will grow

As the person leading business development, you will have real ownership. You will shape how HinduTone works with partners, help define the packages we offer around festivals and community content, and decide where to focus effort across markets.

You will see the direct effect of your work on the business and will be involved in planning conversations with the owner. Over time, you can help set up repeatable processes, such as a festival sponsorship calendar, renewal reviews and partner reporting templates, that make revenue more predictable.

The role also gives you a close view of how a multilingual digital publication runs, from editorial planning to the website, which broadens your experience beyond a pure sales function.

Preparing your application

  • A resume that lists the deals or accounts you have handled, with the type of client, your role in the deal and the outcome described in plain terms.
  • A short note on one partnership you built from first contact to signature, including how you handled objections and negotiation.
  • An example of how you managed your pipeline, such as the stages you used in your CRM and how you kept forecasts realistic.
  • A brief idea, in a paragraph or two, for a partnership HinduTone could offer around an upcoming festival season.
  • Mention any experience with digital advertising, sponsorships or community organisations, and any languages you speak.
  • Keep the resume to two pages if you can, and leave out confidential client figures you are not allowed to share.
