About the role
Many organisations are curious about artificial intelligence but unsure how it could help them. They need someone who can listen to their problem, explain what large language models and related tools can and cannot do, and bring in engineers when a proper solution needs to be designed. HinduTone is hiring an AI and Technology Business Development Executive to play that role.
Alongside its English, Hindi and Telugu publication, HinduTone has a technology team that works on the HinduTone website and its temple, festival, panchang, careers and community sections. We want to offer AI and technology products and services to other organisations, and we need a person who can open those conversations and carry them forward with care.
This is a full-time, hybrid role in Hyderabad. Some exposure to B2B technology or SaaS sales is preferred, but strong freshers with genuine AI knowledge will also be considered. The role suits someone who sits comfortably between business and technology: technical enough to follow an engineer, and clear enough to explain the same idea to a business owner without jargon.
What you will do
- Identify organisations that could benefit from AI and technology services, such as publishers, community organisations, education providers and small businesses.
- Run discovery calls to understand a prospect's workflow, pain points, data situation and expected outcomes.
- Explain LLM and AI solutions in plain business terms, including realistic limits, risks and the effort needed.
- Work with engineers to prepare demos that show a prospect how a solution would work with their kind of content or process.
- Coordinate with the engineering team, including any Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), meaning an engineer who works directly with a client to build and fit a solution to their needs, so that what is promised can be delivered.
- Draft proposals with a clear scope, deliverables and assumptions, and have them reviewed by the technical team before sending.
- Maintain your pipeline in the CRM with notes from every discovery call and the agreed next steps.
- Follow up after demos to gather feedback, answer questions and move conversations towards a decision.
- Keep up with developments in AI tools and summarise what matters for clients in short internal notes.
- Share regular updates on pipeline, wins, losses and reasons, so the team learns from every conversation.
- Help create simple explainers and case material that describe our services honestly.
Skills we are looking for
Must have
- A working understanding of how LLMs, chat assistants, retrieval-based search and automation tools are used in business.
- The ability to explain a technical idea simply, both in writing and in conversation.
- Good listening and questioning skills for discovery calls.
- Clear written English for emails, proposals and meeting notes.
- Honesty about limitations, and the confidence to say "let me check with the engineers" when needed.
- Basic comfort with a CRM, spreadsheets and presentation tools.
Good to have
- Exposure to B2B technology or SaaS sales, pre-sales or customer success.
- A degree or background in computer science, IT or engineering, or hands-on experience building small AI projects.
- Familiarity with prompt design, AI APIs or no-code automation tools.
- Hindi or Telugu for conversations with regional clients.
- An understanding of data privacy concerns that clients often raise about AI.
Who should apply
We are looking for candidates with some B2B technology or SaaS sales exposure, but we will also consider strong freshers who can show real AI knowledge through projects, coursework or self-study. A degree in computer science, IT, engineering, business or a related field is welcome, or equivalent practical skills.
You should be able to work from Hyderabad on a hybrid basis, joining office days for team planning, engineering discussions and client meetings, and working from home on others.
This role suits people who enjoy learning constantly, because AI tools change quickly, and who are comfortable working closely with engineers rather than handing work over and moving on.
How you will grow
You will build a rare combination of skills: understanding technology well enough to discuss it credibly and understanding business well enough to connect it to real outcomes. Working alongside engineers on demos and proposals will deepen your technical knowledge, while discovery calls and negotiations will sharpen your commercial judgement.
As you become more confident, you will take more ownership of your accounts, from the first call to the proposal. You will also contribute to how HinduTone presents its technology services, including the questions we ask in discovery and the explainers we use with clients.
The experience is useful for future paths in technology sales, pre-sales, solutions consulting or product roles, depending on where your interests lead.
Preparing your application
- A resume that shows both sides of your profile: any sales or client-facing work, and any AI or technology projects, courses or certifications.
- A short write-up, around 200 words, explaining one AI use case for a small business in language a non-technical owner would understand.
- Links to a GitHub project, demo video or blog post are welcome if you have built something with AI tools; mention them in the resume as text.
- A list of three questions you would ask in a first discovery call with a prospect, and why.
- If you have sales experience, describe one technology deal you were part of and what your role was.
- Note any languages you speak besides English.
