About the role

Machine learning and large language models are useful only when they run reliably, safely and at a sensible cost. HinduTone is hiring an AI Platform and MLOps Engineer to build the foundations that let models move from an experiment to dependable everyday use, in support of the HinduTone website and its English, Hindi and Telugu content, temple, festival, panchang, careers and community sections.

Your focus will be the platform rather than the model research itself. You will decide how models are packaged, versioned, served, tested and watched, and how people and services get controlled access to them. You will also keep a close eye on inference cost, because a model that is accurate but expensive to run is not a good fit for a publication. The role suits engineers with experience operating ML or AI systems in production, who think in terms of pipelines, metrics and failure modes, and who enjoy working between data, software and infrastructure people. It is a hybrid role based in Hyderabad, with office days and days at home.

What you will do

  • Design and run model serving for ML and LLM workloads, with versioned endpoints, health checks and safe rollouts.
  • Measure and manage GPU and CPU inference cost, choosing between model sizes, batching, caching and hardware options.
  • Set up and maintain a model registry so every model in use has a clear version, owner, training record and approval status.
  • Build CI/CD for models, covering automated checks, evaluation gates and promotion from staging to production.
  • Work with data colleagues on feature stores and data pipelines, so training and serving use consistent, well-documented inputs.
  • Create evaluation pipelines that test models on agreed datasets, including multilingual checks for English, Hindi and Telugu where relevant.
  • Monitor models in production for latency, errors, drift, unexpected outputs and cost, with alerts that reach the right person.
  • Build and operate an LLM gateway that routes requests, applies rate limits, logs usage and allows providers or models to be swapped.
  • Put access control in place for models, prompts, keys and datasets, with audit trails and least-privilege permissions.
  • Write clear documentation and runbooks for the platform, and help other engineers use it correctly.
  • Review new AI features with developers to make sure they can be deployed, monitored and rolled back safely.

Skills we are looking for

Must have

  • Experience operating ML or AI systems in production, not only training them in notebooks.
  • Strong Python and good software engineering habits, including testing and code review.
  • Hands-on model serving experience with tools such as a dedicated inference server, a Python web framework or a managed endpoint.
  • Experience with containers and CI/CD, and comfort with Linux and cloud environments.
  • Practical knowledge of model versioning or a model registry.
  • Experience setting up monitoring for model latency, errors and quality signals.
  • A careful approach to security, secrets and access to data.

Good to have

  • Experience with GPU workloads, quantisation or other ways to reduce inference cost.
  • Familiarity with feature stores and data pipeline orchestration tools.
  • Experience running or building an LLM gateway or proxy with usage tracking.
  • Understanding of evaluation methods for language models, including for Indian languages.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes for ML workloads.

Who should apply

This role is meant for engineers who already have experience operating ML or AI systems in production. A degree in computer science, IT, data science or a related field is helpful, though equivalent practical skills are equally welcome. You might come from a DevOps background and have moved into ML infrastructure, or from ML engineering with a strong interest in platforms and reliability. Either way, you should be able to describe models you have deployed, the problems you met and how you handled them.

You will work from our Hyderabad office on the agreed days and from home on the others. If your experience is mainly building models rather than running them, a model-building role may suit you better than this one.

How you will grow

You will shape how HinduTone runs machine learning and language models, starting from sound principles rather than inheriting a tangle of scripts. You will own the platform's design choices, including serving, evaluation, access and cost, and you will be trusted to say no to shortcuts that would make models hard to monitor or roll back.

The work sits where AI, infrastructure and multilingual content meet, which is a rare combination. You will learn how models behave on Hindi and Telugu text, how to keep inference affordable for a publication and how to give editors and developers safe, simple ways to use AI tools. You can also help junior engineers and interns learn good MLOps practice.

Preparing your application

  • Describe one or two ML or AI systems you have run in production, including scale, users and your exact responsibilities.
  • Explain how you served a model: the tooling, how you released new versions and how you rolled back.
  • Share a cost story, such as a change that reduced GPU or API spend, with the numbers removed if they are confidential.
  • Outline an evaluation pipeline you built or used, and what it caught before release.
  • Mention any work on LLM gateways, prompt logging or access control for AI services.
  • Link to public code or write-ups on MLOps topics if you have them.

Before the interview

Our overview of ML engineer roles and what interviews cover is a good place to revise, and the page on AI engineer careers adds the application side. Brush up on model serving patterns, registry and promotion workflows, drift monitoring and how you would control cost and access for a shared LLM gateway.

How to apply

Share your updated resume with your relevant experience, key skills and links to work you can show, such as GitHub repositories, deployed projects or technical write-ups.

Frequently asked questions

Can freshers or students apply for the MLOps role?

This role needs experience operating ML or AI systems in production, so freshers and students are not a match for it. Candidates who mainly build models in notebooks may find a model-building role a better fit.

What is the salary for the AI Platform and MLOps Engineer job?

The salary is not published. It is discussed with shortlisted candidates according to their production ML and platform experience, after the technical discussions have taken place.

Is the role hybrid, and where is it based?

Yes. It is a full-time hybrid role based in Hyderabad, Telangana, with agreed office days in Hyderabad and the remaining days worked from home, so you can plan focused platform work around both.

Is this a research role or a platform role?

It is a platform role. The focus is model serving, inference cost, model registry, CI/CD for models, feature stores, evaluation pipelines, monitoring, an LLM gateway and access control, rather than model research.

What is the last date to apply?

The last date to apply is 30 November 2026. We suggest sending your application early, with notes on the ML systems you have run, so there is enough time for review.

How do I apply for the AI Platform and MLOps Engineer role?

Call or WhatsApp +91-9666019191, or send your resume through the HinduTone contact page with the reason set to Other, using the subject line 'Application for AI Platform and MLOps Engineer – Production ML'. HinduTone never charges a fee.
