About the role

A well-edited sixty-second video on the story of a temple or the meaning of a mantra can reach readers who would never open a long article. HinduTone is hiring a Video Editor (Shorts and Reels) to turn our festival, temple, mantra and panchang stories into clear, respectful and good-looking video.

This is a full-time, hybrid role in Hyderabad, Telangana. You will edit vertical shorts and reels along with longer YouTube videos, add subtitles in English, Hindi and Telugu, design thumbnails and make sure every piece of music and footage is safe to use under copyright rules.

We are hiring because video has become one of the main ways our readers discover festivals and temples, and we want a dedicated editor who understands pace, clarity and the tone of devotional content. The role suits someone with a portfolio of edited short-form videos and experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or similar tools. Devotional content should feel calm and dignified, not frantic, and your editing choices will decide that.

What you will do

  • Edit vertical shorts and reels from scripts, voice-overs and footage supplied by the content team.
  • Cut longer YouTube videos on festivals, temples, mantras and panchang explainers with clear structure and pacing.
  • Add accurate subtitles in English, Hindi and Telugu and check the spelling of Sanskrit terms and names.
  • Design thumbnails and cover frames that are attractive, honest and consistent with the HinduTone look.
  • Colour-correct, balance audio and clean up background noise so the final video is comfortable to watch and hear.
  • Use only licensed, copyright-free or owned music, footage and images, and keep a record of the source of every asset.
  • Follow platform specifications for Shorts, Reels, YouTube and WhatsApp, including aspect ratios and length.
  • Keep project files and an asset library organised so that any video can be updated later.
  • Revise videos based on editor feedback within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare festival-day videos in advance and be ready for schedule changes when a date is confirmed.
  • Suggest simple graphics, map animations or text overlays that make a story easier to understand.

Who should apply

If you have edited videos for a channel, agency, media house or your own project, please send us your reel. A diploma or degree in film, animation, media or design is welcome, but practical editing skill is what we look at first.

You should be comfortable working to a calendar. Some festival videos have a short window, so careful planning with the content team is part of the job. We also need someone who respects the subject matter and will tell us honestly if a clip or music choice does not feel right.

Strong candidates are patient with subtitles, because a misspelt deity name or mantra word is noticed immediately by viewers. If you edit quickly but also proofread carefully, and you like working to a content calendar, this role will suit you.

You should be able to work from Hyderabad on a hybrid basis, with office days for review sessions and some days from home on a reliable system.

How you will grow

You will learn how a publication plans video around a yearly cultural calendar and how one story becomes a reel, a short, a longer film and a set of posts. You will work closely with writers, social media and SEO colleagues and see which videos readers watch to the end.

The role also builds the habits of professional editing: organised projects, clean exports, source tracking and respectful handling of sensitive subjects. Over time you can help create templates for subtitles, intros and thumbnails so the whole channel looks consistent. Your published videos will serve as a public portfolio.

You will also develop your eye for devotional storytelling, where silence, gentle pacing and well-chosen visuals often work better than fast cuts and loud effects. Our editors will discuss each draft with you, so you can see how small timing and wording changes improve a video for the audience.

Preparing your application

  • A resume that lists the software you use and the kinds of videos you have edited.
  • A link to a reel or playlist with at least five short-form videos, with your role in each.
  • One before and after example showing how you improved a raw clip.
  • A sample thumbnail or cover design, if you make them.
  • A note on how you source music and footage and how you confirm that you may use it.
  • A sample of multilingual subtitles, if you have made them.
