About the role

Telugu families look to the calendar all year: Ugadi, Sankranti, Karthika Masam, Vinayaka Chavithi, Bathukamma and many local observances. Readers want to know the date, the meaning, the story and how to observe each one correctly. HinduTone publishes this on telugu.hindutone.com, and we are hiring a Telugu Devotional Content Writer to make that section richer and more dependable.

The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Hyderabad, Telangana. You will write and edit Telugu articles on festivals, temples, Karthika Masam and other seasonal observances, stotras with their meanings, and daily Rasi Phalalu, always checking dates and facts and following our style and SEO briefs.

We are hiring because Telugu readers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and across the world are visiting in larger numbers, and each page deserves a writer who knows the language well. The role suits someone with excellent written Telugu and a genuine interest in temple and festival traditions. Experience in content writing, journalism or editing is preferred, and freshers with strong Telugu writing samples may apply.

What you will do

  • Write original Telugu articles on festivals, temples and seasonal observances from editorial briefs.
  • Prepare month-long features, such as Karthika Masam, Margasira and Dhanurmasam, with daily observances explained simply.
  • Write stotra pages that give the text, a clear word-by-word or verse-wise meaning and a short note on when it is recited.
  • Write and update daily Rasi Phalalu pages in a steady, balanced tone without exaggerated or fear-inducing claims.
  • Verify tithi, nakshatra and festival dates against reliable panchang and official sources, and record the source for your editor.
  • Edit and proofread drafts from other writers and translators for spelling, grammar, sandhi and natural phrasing.
  • Maintain consistent spellings for deity names, temple names, Sanskrit words and place names across the Telugu section.
  • Use SEO briefs for headings, titles and internal links while keeping the language natural.
  • Update older Telugu pages before each season so that readers always see current details.
  • Work with the English and Hindi teams so that shared topics stay aligned in all three languages.

Who should apply

If you have written or edited Telugu for a newspaper, magazine, television channel, website or publisher, please send us your work. A degree in Telugu, journalism, mass communication, arts or any other subject is welcome, and so are equivalent practical writing skills.

Freshers with strong Telugu writing samples are encouraged to apply. A published blog, a college magazine feature, a short article on a festival or a stotra with your own explanation will help us judge your skill.

You should be able to work from Hyderabad on a hybrid basis. Office days are for editorial planning and review, and the remaining days can be worked from home. We are looking for someone who writes with devotion and discipline, not with exaggeration.

You do not need to be an expert in every temple or ritual. You do need to be curious, careful and willing to check a detail twice. If you are unsure whether you meet every point above, send your best samples anyway and let the work speak.

How you will grow

You will start with supervised articles and steadily take ownership of larger areas, such as a full month of seasonal content or the daily Rasi Phalalu series. Editors will review your drafts, so your writing and fact-checking will improve quickly.

You will learn how a multilingual publication plans a festival season, how search and structure affect Telugu pages, and how to maintain a large body of evergreen content. You will also deepen your understanding of the Telugu calendar and temple traditions, which is useful in any media, publishing or cultural career.

Because the Telugu pages are public, your work will form a portfolio that readers and future employers can see.

You will also learn the quiet skills of a good editor: when to shorten a long sentence, when to keep a traditional phrase as it is, and how to explain a stotra so that a young reader understands it without losing the dignity of the text. Our editors will give you written feedback on early drafts so you can see exactly what changed and why.

Preparing your application

  • A resume listing your writing, journalism or editing work, with links to published pieces.
  • Three to five Telugu samples, preferably on festivals, temples, devotional topics or explanatory writing.
  • A short original piece of about 300 words on Karthika Masam or another coming observance.
  • A brief note describing how you confirm dates and spellings before you publish.
  • Details of other languages you can read and write, especially English or Hindi.
  • If you are a fresher, include your best college or personal writing and say why you chose it.
