About the role

HinduTone wants to hire an Azure Cloud Engineer (Fresher) for a full-time, entry-level position in Hyderabad. The role is hybrid, so you will split your week between our office and home as agreed with the team. We are looking for freshers with 0 to 1 year of experience who have begun learning Microsoft Azure and want to build a career on it.

The HinduTone website serves readers in English, Hindi and Telugu across temple, festival, panchang, careers and community sections. Keeping the cloud side of that work orderly involves many everyday tasks, from looking after resource groups to checking costs and writing clear notes. Those tasks are a sound starting point for a new engineer.

You will begin with tasks that have clear steps and a reviewer, and you will gradually take on more as you show care and consistency. This role suits a graduate who likes scripting, does not mind repetitive checks when they matter and would rather double-check a command than rush it.

What you will do

  • Create and organise resource groups following agreed naming and tagging conventions.
  • Assign and review role-based access control (RBAC) permissions with a senior engineer, making sure people have only the access they need.
  • Handle routine Virtual Machine tasks such as starting, stopping, resizing, patching and checking disk health.
  • Manage Storage accounts, containers and access settings, and confirm that retention and backup settings are in place.
  • Monitor resources through Azure Monitor, respond to simple alerts and escalate anything unusual with useful details attached.
  • Review cost views in Cost Management each week and point out resources that look idle or oversized.
  • Write and maintain small scripts in Azure CLI and PowerShell to automate repeated tasks, with each script reviewed before use.
  • Document procedures, configuration choices and lessons learned so the rest of the team can follow them.
  • Help keep an accurate list of what is running, where, and who owns it.
  • Take part in planning sessions before festival peaks and carry out the checklist items assigned to you.
  • Help prepare simple handover notes at the end of each week summarising open tasks and anything that needs attention.

Skills we are looking for

Must have

  • A clear grasp of Azure fundamentals: subscriptions, resource groups, regions and the main compute and storage services.
  • An understanding of how RBAC works in Azure and why least privilege matters.
  • Beginner-level scripting in PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash or Python.
  • Basic Windows and Linux administration skills.
  • Careful, organised working habits and clear written communication.

Good to have

  • The AZ-900 certification, or preparation towards AZ-104.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Entra ID user and group management.
  • Some understanding of virtual networks and network security groups.
  • Familiarity with Git.
  • Early experience with Terraform or Bicep from labs or personal projects.

Who should apply

Freshers and candidates with up to one year of experience are welcome. A degree in computer science, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical skills shown through labs, projects or certifications, will be a good foundation. Graduates of 2025 and 2026 are encouraged to apply.

You should be able to come to the Hyderabad office on scheduled days and work responsibly from home on the others. We value honesty about your current level far more than a long list of buzzwords on a resume.

If you have spent evenings on Microsoft Learn, built a small lab in a free subscription or helped a college department manage its systems, that counts. We are interested in how you approach a problem: whether you read the documentation, test in a safe place first and keep notes that someone else could follow. Candidates who can show two or three pieces of hands-on work, however modest, usually make a stronger case than those listing many tools they have only read about.

How you will grow

Your first months will focus on doing everyday Azure tasks correctly and documenting them well. A senior engineer will review your scripts and changes and walk you through why things are set up the way they are. That steady feedback is where most of your early learning will come from.

As your reliability grows, you will take responsibility for areas such as weekly cost reviews or the upkeep of a set of scripts. You will also get exposure to networking, identity and infrastructure as code by working alongside experienced colleagues. By the end of your first year, you should be comfortable handling routine Azure administration and explaining the reasoning behind it.

Preparing your application

  • Describe the Azure portal and CLI tasks you have practised, such as deploying a VM, creating a storage account or assigning a role.
  • Include a short script you wrote in PowerShell or Azure CLI, with a note on what it does.
  • Share a lab write-up or blog-style note explaining a small Azure setup from start to finish.
  • Mention any Microsoft certification you hold or are working towards.
  • Add a GitHub link if you keep your scripts or study notes there.
  • Highlight one example of careful, detailed work from college or a project.

Before the interview

Our overview of entry-level Azure jobs covers the questions freshers commonly face and how to talk about lab experience. Revise resource groups and subscriptions, RBAC roles and scopes, VM sizes and disks, storage redundancy options and a few everyday Azure CLI commands.
