About the role
HinduTone is hiring an AWS Cloud Engineer (Fresher) to join its technology team in Hyderabad on a hybrid basis. This is a full-time, entry-level position for someone with 0 to 1 year of experience who already enjoys working with Linux and has started learning Amazon Web Services on their own or in college.
The HinduTone website carries a large and growing body of English, Hindi and Telugu content, along with temple, festival, panchang, careers and community sections. Readers arrive in heavy waves around major festivals, so the infrastructure behind those pages needs steady, careful attention. We want a fresher who can take on well-defined cloud tasks, follow written procedures closely and ask questions early instead of guessing.
You will not be handed production access on day one and left alone. Senior colleagues will set the tasks, review your changes and explain the reasons behind each decision. This role suits a graduate who is patient with detail, likes keeping things tidy and wants a first job where good habits are built from the start.
What you will do
- Provision AWS resources such as EC2 instances, S3 buckets and security groups under the direction of a senior engineer, using checklists that are reviewed before anything goes live.
- Keep IAM in good order by reviewing users, roles and policies, flagging unused access keys and helping move permissions towards least privilege.
- Watch CloudWatch alarms and dashboards, acknowledge alerts, gather first-level details and pass them on with clear notes.
- Check that scheduled backups and snapshots have run, and take part in restore drills so the team knows recovery actually works.
- Write and update runbooks for routine jobs like rotating logs, resizing a volume or renewing a certificate.
- Carry out everyday Linux administration: package updates, disk usage checks, service restarts, file permissions and reading system logs.
- Learn Terraform by reading the existing configuration, making small supervised changes and running plans for review.
- Help prepare the infrastructure for festival traffic peaks by checking capacity notes and alarm thresholds well ahead of the date.
- Keep a simple change log so every action you take can be traced and understood later.
- Join team reviews after incidents and note down what you learned.
Skills we are looking for
Must have
- Comfort with the Linux command line, including navigating the file system, editing files, managing processes and reading logs.
- A working understanding of core AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC basics and CloudWatch.
- Basic networking knowledge such as IP addresses, ports, DNS and how HTTP requests travel.
- Clear written English for tickets, notes and runbooks.
- The discipline to follow a procedure step by step and stop to ask when something looks wrong.
Good to have
- An AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification, or active preparation for one.
- Hands-on practice with Terraform or another infrastructure as code tool.
- Simple Bash or Python scripts that automate a small task.
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Some exposure to web servers such as Nginx and to how a website is served end to end.
Who should apply
We welcome freshers and candidates with up to one year of experience. A degree in computer science, IT, electronics or a related field is helpful, though equivalent practical skills shown through labs and projects are equally valued. Recent graduates from the 2025 and 2026 batches are encouraged to apply.
You should be able to work from our Hyderabad office on the days set by the team, with some days from home under the hybrid arrangement. Above all, we are looking for people who are honest about what they know, careful with access and keen to learn.
How you will grow
In the first months, your work will be closely reviewed, and each review is a chance to understand why a setting is chosen or a policy is written a certain way. As your confidence builds, you will be trusted with larger pieces of routine work, such as owning the backup verification schedule or maintaining a set of runbooks.
You will gain practical experience with monitoring, access control, recovery testing and infrastructure as code on a live publication with real traffic patterns. Over time, you will be able to read Terraform plans fluently, explain the impact of a change before making it and take part in planning for busy festival seasons. These are the habits that carry a cloud career forward.
Preparing your application
- List the AWS services you have actually used and describe one small setup you built, such as a static site on S3 or a Linux server on EC2.
- Add a short write-up of a cloud lab you completed, explaining what you did, what broke and how you fixed it.
- Include a link to a GitHub repository if you have Terraform files, scripts or notes you are happy to share.
- Mention any AWS certification you hold or are preparing for, with the expected exam month.
- Describe a time you followed a detailed process carefully, in college, an internship or a project.
- Keep the resume to one or two pages and put your strongest technical work near the top.
Before the interview
Our article on landing an AWS role as a fresher explains what entry-level cloud interviews usually cover and how to present lab work. Brush up on IAM policies and roles, EC2 and EBS basics, S3 permissions, CloudWatch alarms and common Linux commands, and be ready to talk through how you would restore a server from a snapshot.

Share your updated resume with your relevant experience, key skills and links to work you can show, such as GitHub repositories, deployed projects or technical write-ups.
