About the role

Every partnership HinduTone signs begins with someone finding the right organisation, writing a thoughtful first message and following up patiently. We are hiring a Business Development Executive (Freshers) to do exactly that, as the first step in a sales and partnerships career.

HinduTone publishes festival, temple, panchang, careers and community content in English, Hindi and Telugu. Temple trusts, cultural groups, NRI associations and brands regularly want to reach our readers, and we need an energetic person to research these organisations, start conversations and keep our records in order.

This is a full-time, hybrid role in Hyderabad, designed for freshers with up to one year of experience. You do not need a sales background. You need curiosity, clear communication, good manners on calls and messages, and the discipline to follow up. You will work under the guidance of senior team members, who will review your work and help you learn how to qualify leads properly. If you want to understand how business development really works, from a blank prospect list to a scheduled meeting, this is a good place to start.

What you will do

  • Research organisations that could partner with HinduTone, including temple trusts, community associations, cultural event organisers and family brands.
  • Build and maintain prospect lists with accurate names, roles, organisation details and the reason each one is a good fit.
  • Write and send first outreach messages by email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp Business, using approved templates and adapting them for each prospect.
  • Follow up on a regular schedule, politely and without pressure, and record every response.
  • Update the CRM after every call or message so the team always knows where each lead stands.
  • Schedule meetings and calls between prospects and senior team members, and share short notes before each meeting.
  • Learn how to qualify a lead by asking the right questions about goals, timing, budget and decision makers.
  • Join calls as a listener at first, and gradually take on parts of the conversation as your confidence grows.
  • Help prepare simple summaries of weekly outreach activity and results.
  • Keep track of festival dates and seasonal events so outreach starts at the right time.

Skills we are looking for

Must have

  • Clear written and spoken English, and the ability to write a short, polite, professional message.
  • Comfort speaking to new people on the phone and in online meetings.
  • Basic skill with spreadsheets, email and online research.
  • Attention to detail when recording information, because a wrong name or number costs a lead.
  • Willingness to take feedback, learn quickly and follow a process.
  • Respect for religious and cultural sensitivities when speaking to temple and community contacts.

Good to have

  • Conversational Hindi or Telugu.
  • Any exposure to sales, marketing, customer support, college event sponsorship or fundraising.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn for professional networking.
  • Experience with any CRM tool, even from a course or internship.
  • Interest in Indian festivals, temples or NRI community life.

Who should apply

We welcome freshers and candidates with up to one year of experience. Recent graduates in business administration, commerce, marketing, mass communication, engineering, arts or a related field are all suitable, and so are candidates with equivalent practical skills from internships, college clubs or a family business.

You should be able to work from Hyderabad on a hybrid basis, coming into the office for training, team reviews and meetings, with some days of work from home.

Most importantly, you should enjoy talking to people and be ready to put in steady daily effort. Business development rewards consistency more than anything else, and we will look for signs of that in your application.

What you will learn

In the first months, the focus is on learning how a sales process works in practice. You will see how a lead moves from research to outreach, from a first reply to a qualified conversation, and from a meeting to a proposal handled by a senior colleague.

You will learn how to research an organisation quickly, write outreach that gets read, handle polite refusals, and keep a CRM that others can rely on. You will also learn how a digital publication works with partners while keeping editorial standards, which is useful knowledge in any media or marketing career.

Senior team members will review your messages, sit with you on calls and give regular feedback. As your skills grow, you will be given more responsibility for your own set of leads. How quickly that happens depends on your progress, and we will be open with you about it.

Preparing your application

  • A one-page resume that highlights communication, any customer-facing work and any experience organising events or raising sponsorship in college.
  • A short sample outreach message, under 120 words, introducing HinduTone to a temple trust or a community association.
  • A list of five organisations you think HinduTone could partner with, with one line on why each fits.
  • Mention the languages you speak and how comfortable you are on calls in each.
  • Any internship, project or club role where you had to follow up with people to get something done.
  • Keep it honest and simple; we value clear writing over fancy formatting.
