About the role

HinduTone is hiring a Python Full Stack Developer in Hyderabad to build and improve the pages and tools our readers use every day. The HinduTone website brings together festival explainers, temple listings, daily panchang, careers content and community stories in English, Hindi and Telugu, and much of it needs both a dependable backend and a fast, readable frontend.

In this role you will work across the whole stack: Python APIs with FastAPI or Django, frontends in React and TypeScript, PostgreSQL databases, authentication, Docker and deployment. You will also care about how pages perform and how search engines see them, because a slow or poorly structured page loses readers no matter how good the content is.

This is a full-time, hybrid role, split between our Hyderabad office and working from home. It suits a developer who has built and shipped full-stack web applications, enjoys owning features from database schema to the final screen, and is comfortable balancing speed with careful engineering.

What you will do

  • Design and build REST APIs in Python using FastAPI or Django, with clear validation, pagination and error handling.
  • Develop React and TypeScript interfaces for features such as festival calendars, temple search and careers listings.
  • Model data in PostgreSQL, write efficient queries and plan safe migrations.
  • Implement authentication and role-based access for editorial and community features.
  • Containerise services with Docker and help maintain a smooth path from pull request to production.
  • Make pages SEO-aware: correct headings, metadata, structured data, canonical tags and readable URLs.
  • Profile and improve performance, including page load time, API response time and database query cost.
  • Handle multilingual content cleanly, so English, Hindi and Telugu text renders and sorts correctly.
  • Write automated tests for backend and frontend code, and review pull requests from teammates.
  • Work with editors to turn content needs into practical features and simple admin tools.
  • Investigate production issues, write clear incident notes and add safeguards so they do not repeat.
  • Keep dependencies up to date and fix security warnings before they turn into real problems.

Skills we are looking for

Must have

  • Experience building and shipping full-stack web applications that real users relied on.
  • Strong Python with hands-on work in FastAPI or Django.
  • Solid React and TypeScript skills, including state management and component design.
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational database, including indexing and query tuning.
  • Understanding of REST API design, authentication methods and common web security practices.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and at least one approach to deploying web applications.

Good to have

  • Experience with server-side rendering or static generation for SEO-friendly pages.
  • Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and browser performance tools.
  • Experience with caching layers, background jobs or task queues.
  • Exposure to internationalisation and Unicode handling for Indian languages.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or interns through code review.

Who should apply

We are looking for developers with a degree in computer science, IT or a related field, or equivalent practical skills proven through shipped products. The key requirement is a track record of building complete web applications, not just one half of the stack, and seeing them through to production.

You should enjoy working closely with non-technical colleagues, particularly editors who know exactly what readers need but not how to build it. You should also be comfortable with a hybrid routine, spending part of the week with the team in Hyderabad. Developers coming from product companies, agencies or startups are all welcome, provided you can walk us through the design decisions behind something you built and explain what you would do differently today.

How you will grow

You will own significant parts of the HinduTone website end to end. That includes deciding how a feature is structured, which trade-offs are acceptable, and how it is tested and released. Over time, you can shape conventions for API design, frontend structure and deployment that the rest of the team follows.

The work also brings problems that are interesting in their own right. Festival pages see sudden traffic surges, panchang data changes by location and time zone, and every feature has to work across three languages and scripts. Solving these problems will deepen your skills in performance, data modelling and internationalisation. You will also have the chance to guide freshers and interns through code review, which builds your technical leadership. You will be trusted to raise concerns early and propose better approaches when you see them.

Preparing your application

  • Share one or two full-stack projects you built and shipped, with a short note on the stack and your personal role.
  • Include a GitHub link or code sample showing both a Python backend and a React or TypeScript frontend.
  • Describe a performance problem you solved, with before and after numbers if you have them.
  • Mention any SEO work you have done, such as structured data, sitemaps or rendering strategy.
  • Explain how you deployed one of your applications and how you handled database migrations.
  • If you have worked with Hindi, Telugu or other Indian-language content, say so briefly.

Before the interview

Our article on Python careers and the skills recruiters test is written mainly for early-career readers, but it is a quick refresher on the Python fundamentals that still come up in full-stack interviews. Beyond that, revise REST API design, PostgreSQL indexing, React rendering behaviour and how you would make a content page fast and SEO-friendly.

How to apply

Share your updated resume with your relevant experience, key skills and links to work you can show, such as GitHub repositories, deployed projects or technical write-ups.
