Quick answer: For Navratri 2026 we found seven upcoming Garba listings in Brampton, on Fri 9, Sat 10 and Sun 11 October and Fri 16 October, plus a Sharad Poonam Raas Garba on Sat 24 October. Venues are the Brampton Soccer Centre, Pearson Convention Centre and Dreams Convention Centre. Three earlier nights, including the City of Brampton's free community Garba on 25 September, have already been held. For Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Halton and Durham, see Garba 2026 Toronto and GTA.

Brampton's Gujarati and wider South Asian community keeps Navratri busy from the Labour Day weekend through to Sharad Poonam. Community associations, Samaj groups and event organisers book the city's large halls for the Navratri weekends, and in 2026 the City of Brampton itself held a community Garba at Brampton Sports Park. This page lists the Brampton nights we could verify, with links so you can check details with the organiser. For the rest of the country, see our Garba 2026 Canada guide.

Event status key: Confirmed means the date and venue appear on the organiser's own page or on its ticketing page. Listed — confirm with organiser means we found the event on a third-party listing site (such as AllEvents) and could not open an organiser page; treat it as likely but check before you go. Notes such as duplicate listings are shown in brackets in the Event column.

Sharad Navratri 2026 runs from Sunday 11 October to Monday 19 October (Drik Panchang, India dates), with Durga Ashtami and Maha Navami both on Monday 19 October and Dussehra on Tuesday 20 October 2026. Because Brampton's big halls are booked mainly on Friday and Saturday nights, the Garba calendar here concentrates on the weekends of 9 to 11 and 16 to 17 October rather than all nine nights. Some events start before Navratri formally begins; families who keep the nine nights at home or in a temple often attend those as an extra celebration. For Ghatasthapana time in Toronto and other Canadian cities, see Navratri 2026 in Canada, city by city, and for the full puja calendar, our Navratri 2026 guide for Hindus in Canada. The Navratri 2026 colours list helps if your group dresses to the colour of the day.

Why Garba is devotional

Garba is a circle dance for the Goddess. Dancers move around a garbo, a clay pot with a lamp inside, or an image of Amba or Mataji, and the evening usually begins with an aarti. As traditionally understood, the lamp is the divine light within every life, and the circle honours the Goddess at its centre. That is why Garba, even in a convention centre in Brampton, is treated as worship as well as celebration. Learn more in Garba meaning and spiritual significance and the history of Garba from Gujarat to the world. Short prayers to recite before you leave home are in Navratri mantras and prayers before Garba.

Many Brampton programmes also include Dandiya Raas, danced in pairs with sticks. If you are unsure which is which, read Garba vs Dandiya Raas.

First-timer tips for Garba in Brampton

  • What to wear. Chaniya choli, lehenga, kediyu or kurta are traditional; any modest festive outfit is welcome. See our Garba dress guide.
  • Large indoor venues. Sports and convention centres get warm once the circles fill. Dress in layers, carry water and take breaks.
  • Etiquette. Bow to Mataji, stand for the aarti, never cross the centre of the circle, and keep the evening alcohol-free.
  • Steps. Start in the outer circle with the two-clap step; our Garba for beginners guide explains how.
  • Kids. Agree a meeting point inside the hall, keep young children with an adult in the outer circle, and plan for a late night.
  • Parking and travel. Popular nights mean busy car parks. Check the venue's page for parking and entry times, consider car-pooling, and arrange a safe ride home.
  • Tickets. Buy only through the organiser's page or the ticketing link it names, and keep your ticket on your phone.

The listings above are the Brampton events we could verify on 7 October 2026. Many temples, mandals and Samaj groups in Peel Region hold Garba for their own members and announce it only on their websites, newsletters or social pages. Ask at your local mandir, check your community association's page, or look at nearby listings in Mississauga, Oakville and Milton on our Toronto and GTA page. Editor's note (7 October 2026)

This list was compiled on 7 October 2026 from a City of Brampton news release and public ticketing and listing pages (Sulekha, Eventbrite and AllEvents). We include only events whose date and venue we could see, we flag possible duplicates, and we do not list prices or performers because they change. We will update this page as organisers publish more Brampton nights. If you run a Brampton Garba that is missing, a clear event page on your own website is the best way to be found.
