Reported by Sambad English on 25 October 2026. the temple plans an online-booked trial facility for 20 persons with disabilities a day, with each person allowed once every six months. The plan was reported as decided at a meeting chaired by Puri Collector Dibyajyoti Parida. Reported route: assistance near the Satyanarayan Temple, battery-operated vehicles to the North Gate, a ramp for wheelchair users, and volunteers up to Ghantidwara and Jay Bijay Dwara. It will not run on heavy-crowd ritual days, police and a medical team will be deployed, and the start was expected after Kartika, once the booking website is ready.

Reported by OdishaBytes on 24 October 2026. the SJTA has completed a ramp and railings from Gumuta, near the northern entrance, to Kurma Bedha, and an SOP is being finalised. The trial had been deferred during Kartika because of pilgrim numbers. The administration was also reported to be reviewing the restriction on conventional wheelchairs inside the premises, with alternatives such as wooden wheelchairs or attendants under consideration. OdishaBytes says the step followed an Orissa High Court direction. The two reports differ slightly on how often a person may avail the facility (once every six months versus twice a year with at least six months between visits), so the final SOP will decide.
