A day-by-day November 2026 Hindu calendar for Singapore: the tithi at Singapore sunrise for all 30 days, the local dates of Deepavali week, the start of Karthika Masam and its Mondays, Nagula Chavithi, Devutthana Ekadashi and Tulasi Vivah (a day later than India), Karthika Pournami and Karthigai Deepam, with notes on where Singapore differs from India.
Quick answer: the main November 2026 Hindu festivals in Singapore are Deepavali on Sunday 8 November (with the Naraka Chaturdashi oil bath the same morning), Dhanteras on Friday 6 November, Karthika Masam from Tuesday 10 November, Devutthana Ekadashi on Saturday 21 November, Tulasi Vivah on Sunday 22 November and Karthika Pournami with Karthigai Deepam on Tuesday 24 November.
Most of Singapore's dates match India's, but because the island is east of India a few observances move one day later rather than earlier. The full calendar below lists all 30 days with the tithi at Singapore sunrise, the local sunrise and the day's observances, each linked to that date's panchang.
November 2026 in Singapore at a glance
For Singapore's largely Tamil Hindu community, November is the month of Deepavali followed by the Tamil month of Karthigai, which ends in the great lamp festival of Karthigai Deepam. Telugu and Kannada families keep the same weeks as Karthika Masam, with Monday fasts for Shiva and evening deepams at the tulasi. North Indian, Gujarati and Bengali families add Dhanteras, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj, Chhath and Kartika Purnima.
Singapore runs 2.5 hours ahead of India with no daylight saving, so the sun rises close to the same time every day, from 6:45 AM on 1 November to 6:50 AM on 30 November, and sets near 6:55 PM. When a tithi begins in India's early morning, it may already be running at Singapore's sunrise on the same date; when it begins later in India's morning, Singapore can reach it only on the next sunrise. That is why these Singapore dates differ from India in our data: Devutthana (Prabodhini) Ekadashi, Tulasi Vivah, Ksheerabdi Dwadashi.
November 2026 Hindu calendar for Singapore, day by day
Tithi and sunrise are for Singapore, computed with HinduTone's panchang calculator, which has been validated against Drik Panchang. Deepavali-week dates are Drik Panchang's Singapore dates; the Karthika dates (start of the month, Mondays, Nagula Chavithi, Devutthana Ekadashi, Tulasi Vivah, Pournami and Karthigai Deepam) are calculated with the same validated method. A festival is not always kept on the day its tithi is at sunrise: Deepavali Lakshmi Puja follows the evening, Masik Shivaratri follows midnight and Sankashti follows moonrise. Items marked "India date" have no Singapore date in our data: abroad they may fall a day earlier or later — check your local temple.

Deepavali week in Singapore
Dhanteras falls on Friday 6 November, when many families buy a new vessel or some gold and light a lamp for Yama at the threshold. In Singapore, as in Tamil Nadu, the heart of the festival is the morning of Sunday 8 November: an oil bath before dawn, new clothes, a visit to the temple and sweets shared with neighbours, remembering Krishna's victory over Narakasura. North Indian and Gujarati households perform Lakshmi Puja the same evening. For timings see the Singapore Deepavali Lakshmi Puja muhurat guide, and for the Tamil customs Diwali in Tamil Nadu and the sacred oil bath.
Govardhan Puja and Annakut fall on Tuesday 10 November and Bhai Dooj on Wednesday 11 November, both the same as India. Many Tamil women also keep the Kedara Gowri nombu on Deepavali; see Kedar Gauri Vrat 2026. For community happenings, read Deepavali 2026 in Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai and, for the kitchen, Tamil Deepavali recipes.
Karthika Masam and the Monday fasts
Karthika Masam begins on Tuesday 10 November in Singapore, the same day as in India, so the island shares India's Monday pattern: the November Somavarams are Monday 16 November, Monday 23 November, Monday 30 November. Devotees fast until evening, offer bilva leaves and water to the Shiva lingam, and light a lamp at dusk. Read Karthika Masam 2026 in Singapore, the Karthika Somavaram vratam for Singapore and Shiva temples to visit in Karthika Masam in Singapore.
Nagula Chavithi, when Telugu families pour milk at an anthill or offer it to a serpent image, falls on Friday 13 November in Singapore, the same as India. See Nagula Chavithi 2026.
Skanda Sashti
Skanda Sashti, six days of devotion to Lord Murugan ending in the Soora Samharam, his victory over the demon Surapadman, is one of the most loved observances among Singapore Tamils. In India the Soora Samharam is on Sunday 15 November. Our data has no separate Singapore date, so abroad it may fall a day earlier or later — check your local temple. Many devotees keep a partial fast through the six days. See Skanda Sashti 2026 in Singapore and Malaysia.
Devutthana Ekadashi and Tulasi Vivah, a day later
This is where Singapore parts from India. Devutthana (Prabodhini) Ekadashi, when Vishnu wakes from his four-month sleep, is Saturday 21 November in Singapore against Friday 20 November in India. Tulasi Vivah and the Telugu Ksheerabdi Dwadashi follow on Sunday 22 November (India: Saturday 21 November). If your temple follows an Indian printed calendar, ask which date it will use. See Dev Uthani Ekadashi and Tulsi Vivah 2026 in Singapore and Ksheerabdi Dwadashi in Singapore.
Karthika Pournami and Karthigai Deepam
The full moon on Tuesday 24 November brings Karthika Pournami, Dev Diwali and, in our calculation, Karthigai Deepam on the same day. In Singapore the Purnima tithi lasts from Tue 24 Nov, 2:13 AM to Tue 24 Nov, 10:54 PM, covering the whole local day, so the evening lamp lighting falls cleanly inside the full moon. Tamil homes set rows of clay lamps at doorways and windows, recalling Shiva's appearance as a column of fire at Tiruvannamalai. Read Karthika Pournami 2026 in Singapore, Karthigai Deepam 2026 for Singapore and Malaysia and Karthigai month 2026 Tamil festivals.
Vaikuntha Chaturdashi, the Hari-Hara day before the full moon, is Monday 23 November in India; we have no Singapore date, so abroad it may fall a day earlier or later — check your local temple.
Other observances this month
Rama Ekadashi (Thursday 5 November in India), Ahoi Ashtami (Sunday 1 November), Chhath Puja (Sunday 15 November), Ravi Pradosh (Sunday 22 November) and Ganadhipa Sankashti (Friday 27 November) have no Singapore date in our data: abroad they may fall a day earlier or later, so check your local temple. Vrishchika Sankranti, the Sun's entry into Scorpio, is Monday 16 November in India and marks the start of the Sabarimala Mandala season, when many Singapore Ayyappa devotees begin their 41-day vow; see Ayyappa deeksha for NRIs. Our November 2026 vrat and fasting days guide explains every fast.
Notes for Singapore families
- Temples: long-established temples such as Sri Mariamman and Sri Srinivasa Perumal draw large crowds over Deepavali and on the full moon. Check each temple's official website for current timings; we do not list them.
- Same-island differences: all of Singapore shares one time zone, so the dates in this guide apply island-wide. Families in Johor or Batam should still check their own calendar.
- India calendars: printed Indian panchangs show India's dates. For Devutthana Ekadashi and Tulasi Vivah they will be a day earlier than Singapore's.
- Weather: November is the wet monsoon season. Keep outdoor kolams and lamps sheltered, and use a metal tray for diyas indoors.
- Fasting and health: if you are pregnant, elderly, diabetic or on medication, keep a light fast with fruit and milk, or ask your doctor first.
Frequently asked questions
When is Deepavali 2026 in Singapore?
Deepavali (Lakshmi Puja) is on Sunday 8 November in Singapore, the same day as India. Naraka Chaturdashi, the pre-dawn oil-bath day that Tamil families treat as Deepavali morning, is also Sunday 8 November. Confirm your temple's timings for the morning prayers.
Why is Devutthana Ekadashi a day later in Singapore than in India?
Singapore's clocks run 2.5 hours ahead of India. Ekadashi begins after sunrise in Singapore on the Indian date, so the Ekadashi day in Singapore is Saturday 21 November (India: Friday 20 November), and Tulasi Vivah moves with it to Sunday 22 November.
When does Karthika Masam 2026 start in Singapore?
On Tuesday 10 November, the same as India. The Karthika Mondays (Somavarams) in November are Monday 16 November, Monday 23 November, Monday 30 November, and the month's final Monday falls in early December.
When is Karthigai Deepam 2026 in Singapore?
Our calculation places Karthigai Deepam on Tuesday 24 November, together with Karthika Pournami. In Singapore the Purnima tithi runs from Tue 24 Nov, 2:13 AM to Tue 24 Nov, 10:54 PM local time, so the evening lamps fall inside the full moon. Follow your temple for the exact lighting.
When is Skanda Sashti 2026 in Singapore?
Our data has no separate Singapore date, so we give the India date: the Soora Samharam is on Sunday 15 November in India. Abroad it may fall a day earlier or later — check your local temple, as Murugan temples announce the six-day schedule well in advance.
Does Singapore use daylight saving time?
No. Singapore stays on UTC+8 all year, so sunrise barely moves in November: 6:45 AM on 1 November and 6:50 AM on 30 November. Times in this guide are local and are never converted from India.
Editor's note and methodology
Editor's note (9 October 2026): This calendar has been restored at its original address. Daily tithi, nakshatra and sunrise for Singapore are computed with HinduTone's panchang calculator, validated against Drik Panchang. Deepavali-week dates for Singapore are from Drik Panchang; Karthika dates for Singapore are calculated by HinduTone with the same validated method and should be confirmed on Drik Panchang. India dates are from Drik Panchang for Hyderabad. Where we have no Singapore date, we show the India date and say so. Times from India are never converted. Temple and family traditions vary, so confirm with your temple before a fast.
